Kaitlin Coppock is a ritualist, writer, amateur photographer, ex-web designer, and budding natural perfumer who began her journey with scent and its healing potential after getting roped into an essential oil-based pyramid scheme in the year 2012.
Around that same time, she had the great privilege of redesigning the website for indie perfume icon Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab, with whom she continues to collaborate to this day.
In 2018 Kaitlin opened Sphere + Sundry, using the term “Talismanic Materia” to refer to the herbs (and herbally infused goods) she consecrated during curated “election” windows, inspired by the Talismanic tradition of astrological magic, and specifically the grimoire Picatrix.
She later discovered deep resonance between the approach she had been developing and the ideas of Marsilio Ficino, whose Three Books of Occult Philosophy had been published nearly 500 years earlier.
Kaitlin is honored to serve as a beacon tower and torch bearer in the chain of transmission Ficino spiritually sired, and the wellbeing these methods continue bringing to the modern world.
The practice of bottling celestial influences is one she had been refining in one form or another since 2007, when she was given the life-changing news that magic was real by her now husband, collaborator in all things, and astrologer (whom you may know from The Astrology Podcast), Austin Coppock on their very first date.
The impact of Sphere + Sundry has been immense.
